He wrote, directed, and stars in Gifted Pain (2025). His on-screen credits include Panic Button (2011), Heavy Duty (2012), The Fear (2012), and The Antwerp Dolls (2015). He is the founder of Bojman Films, a production company dedicated to independent, emotional storytelling. Written and directed by Bristolian Tobias Jon, and drawing on his own personal experiences, Gifted Pain follows Christopher, a loner struggling with a childhood tragedy. Seeking refuge, he immerses himself in martial arts films. A life-changing moment releases unknown abilities, taking him closer to solving the mystery of his past. Featuring a cast which includes many local Bristolian actors and filmmakers, and shot largely in locations across the city including Avonmouth, Stokes Croft and the famous Johnny Ball Lane, Gifted Pain has already been recognized and celebrated by several international film festivals, winning Best Feature Film from Luleå International Film Festival, Best Feature, Best Director and Best Actor from Stockholm Film Festival and recognized as a Finalist at Anatolia International Film Festival. Now, after five years in the making, the film will premiere in the city in which it was created, with an event and screening hosted at Bristol’s biggest cinema screen, the Bristol IMAX Mega Screen, on Saturday 6th September. The event will feature a red carpet, live music from local musicians, the first official screening of the film in the city, a live Q&A with the cast, followed by an official after-party. Speaking about the official premiere of Gifted Pain, Director Tobias Jon said: “After five years in the making, it’s incredibly exciting to finally be sharing Gifted Pain with the world.
